...oOo...
This baby jacket and cap was made because I happened to finish the sweater I was working on when we stayed with my parents-in-law last Christmas. And me being me I can't just sit there and do nothing. So, I found a pattern in a magazine that fitted just fine with the yarn I had asked my mother-in-law to buy for me in the LYS (at least it's local to her).
Usually I wouldn't spend that much time - nearly three months - before finishing such a relatively small garment. This time I did, however. Mainly because I've been working on several other project at the same time. And because it took weeks to find the buttons. Oh well, not important.

seriøs strik for sjov
\o/
serious knitting for fun - the Danish knitting association I joined only a few weeks ago. We'll meet up once a month, sometimes just for the fun of knitting together with other people, other times it will be to plan specific trips, exhibitions and themes for the next knitting session.
The best thing of it all is that you don't have to be a very fast, skilled or experienced knitter to join - and that's just up my alley!

Award - Blogging with a purpose
I cannot believe it, Else thinks that my blog... my blog!... is inpiring and interesting enough to deserve an award. There are so unbelievably many blogs out there, blogs with a purpose even - well, there's just not much I can say. Thank you, Else - I really appreciate it! :)

TO-DO
Inspired by my newly found swap partner I'll keep track of all my future projects by making a.... you'll never guess..... list! Ta-daaa! So here goes:
#One sweet baby bonnet - I'll need 'cute' yarn of some sort and a silk ribbon
#One Backyard Leaves scarf - the yarn is in my stash
#One silky shawl for myself - I'm thinking: Debbie Bliss, Pure Silk - white or silverlike colour (I have a ton of weddings to attend to this year, that's why).
#One Iceland sweater (another selfish project) - the Rowan Cocoon was bought a few days ago and the pattern is on its way.
#One Noro scarf - and that's all I can say. It's not that it's a big secret or anything, I just don't know exactly how, what or when. But I do have two skeins of Noro yarn in my stash.
#One huge Totoro for Moe - he loves that character and I don't think he'll ever stop tormenting me with just HOW much he really wants one for himself :)

Tour de yarn
˚-˚
My friend past away last week - it's still very surreal. And in spite of the fact that everything seems a bit pointless I decided to stick to the original plan, i.e. to participate in the much awaited 'tour de yarn'. Pindsvinet and I had planned to visit all the lovely yarn shops in our home city and I certainly needed a laugh. The whole thing began at ten this morning. We went from shop to shop and at around noon we both felt a wee bit peckish, which resulted in: 1 lovely burger with potatoes on the side + 1 glass of elder flower lemonade, and 1 very nice sandwich with ham and feta + 1 glass of elderberry lemonade :)
With our stomachs filled to the max. we continued our search for more beautiful and extremely necessary yarn. The shops closed so we headed down to a café for a cup of coffee [= cappuccino and rich monster biscuits].
Even though the shops all closed much too early for my taste, I still managed to buy this:
And what you don't see in this photo is the Rowan yarn that had to be ordered.... Mmmmmm.... yaaaaarn...... :)

I should be ashamed of myself!
A few days ago - last Thursday I think was - I told Pindsvinet that I would refrain from buying more yarn for at least 3 weeks, since our big buy-a-lot-of-yarn-from-all-the-LYSs-in-the-city-tour is only two weeks from now and my stash is very much visible to the naked eye. And I was doing so well...
... until today; I spent most of my weekend imagining different scenarios that would prevent me from going to work, for instance that a) I was unemployed, b) a blizzard would sweep across the country, or c) aliens had taken me to Yarn Harlot's wonderful place in the middle of the night. None of those things happened - so quite disappointed I got up and went to work. And because I felt that I had just been had by fate I bought some yarn! Good bye 'no yarn for me'-plan. The amazing thing is that it helped right away though I did feel just a touch of guilt at first. It soon wore off and now - six hours later - I still feel the effect of my latest purchase :)
